Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Aventiq uses cookies and similar technologies, how our cookie consent banner works, and how you can change your choice at any time.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function correctly, remember your preferences and, where permitted, provide useful analytical information.
2. Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are never subject to consent.
- aventiq_consent - remembers your cookie preferences for up to 180 days, so we don't ask you again on every visit
- sb-*-auth-token - keeps a staff member signed in to the dashboard (only set for logged-in staff, never for public visitors)
- NEXT_LOCALE - remembers whether you're browsing in English, Dutch or French
3. Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website - which pages are popular, how people navigate between them - so we can improve it. These cookies are only set once you actively choose to allow them.
- _ga / _ga_* - Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish visitors and sessions, typically kept for up to 2 years
4. Future Marketing Cookies
Our cookie preferences already include a "Marketing" category, reserved for a possible future advertising or campaign-measurement integration. No marketing or advertising cookie is currently set by this website, whatever you choose for this category - it exists today so that, if this changes, your preference is already recorded rather than needing to ask everyone again.
5. Cookie Lifetime
Different cookies are kept for different lengths of time:
- Necessary cookies: the consent cookie lasts up to 180 days; the session cookie for staff logins expires when they sign out or after a period of inactivity
- Analytics cookies (if allowed): typically up to 2 years, per Google's own retention settings
- You can remove any cookie at any time through your browser settings, though this may sign you out or reset your saved preferences
6. Consent Management
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Customize Preferences to choose exactly which categories to allow. We use Google's Consent Mode, which keeps analytics storage switched off by default until you actively grant consent - no analytics cookie is set and no browsing behaviour is measured before that point. Once you make a choice, the banner will not reappear on later visits.
7. How to Withdraw or Change Consent
You can change your mind at any time. Click "Cookie Preferences" in the footer of any page to reopen the preferences panel, review what's currently allowed, and save a new choice - it takes effect immediately, with no need to reload the page.
8. Third-Party Cookies
Only Google Analytics (Section 3) sets cookies on this website today, and only after you consent. Google's own privacy practices for this data are described in Google's Privacy Policy.
9. Policy Updates
This Cookie Policy may be updated periodically to reflect legal, technical or operational changes, such as a new cookie category or integration. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
